WORTH IT WITH MY IMPERFECTIONS

About Stella

Happily married, mother of son Jess, loves to write and always looking for peace of mind.

Anxiety and depression ruled my life

“Always looking for peace.” That has become a lifestyle for me. I used to be stressed out. In primary school, they regularly called me “Stressa”. Until recently, I was always concerned about what others thought about me. I always judged myself. Thinking I was never doing well enough. Always perfecting myself or my work, and when that didn’t work out, I got frustrated, obsessed, or depressed.
The source of all this? Fear. And false beliefs about myself. Depression, anxiety, physical complaints often dominated my life. By trial and error, with the help of lovely people around me, of psychologists and coaches, I can now say that I am fully enjoying my life again. Sometimes with fear or insecurity, but I have learned a lot in my search for inner peace. And I share that with you, in my blogs. I have learned that I am also completely worthwhile, with my imperfections. And I wish the same for you. That you learn to accept yourself, that you come into harmony with yourself and that you are therefore able to relax. I wish that you too can enjoy life (again), in peace.

My mission

My mission is to fight anxiety and depression worldwide. With my blogs I take mental problems out of the taboo sphere and bring them to light, so that you feel empowered in your struggle, because you know “I am not the only one”. And to inspire you to seek help if you cannot resolve it yourself.

In addition, it is my mission to make you think about your thoughts, or about the choices you make. Because that all has to do with how much peace you experience in your life.

And sometimes I just want to inspire you, with interesting, funny or moving stories.

Tackle my fears

I have known a lot of mental problems in my life, and they still pop up from time to time (if I sleep badly, for example, or if I do something new, such as writing blogs about it ;). And by sharing my experience and feelings about this, I hope that you will feel empowered as you fight anxiety and depression. But even if you don’t suffer from anxiety or depression, my stories can still appeal to you, simply because you recognize yourself in something.

I write despite the fear

As mentioned before: I love to write. So it is a joy for me to blog, especially if you respond (positively) to it! Then I bloom completely! But this doesn’t mean that I always do it with equal confidence. Sometimes I publish a new blog in fear: I take the risk of getting negative responses even though I wouldn’t like to receive negative responses. But my drive to help you is stronger than this fear. And I know: The more I do it, the easier it gets. Every day I make the choice to have faith. Myself and God!

DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR MASK ON?

My mask is off

One in five people will have to deal with depression and/or burnout complaints in his or her life.
When you realize this, it is strange that there is still a lot of stigma surrounding these topics. People (especially young people) often feel that they should always be the ideal version of themselves. Influenced or not by social media, we almost always seem to get off worse than the ones we compare ourselves to.

No more struggles with mental problems

It is therefore not surprising that many people wear a mask (me too until recently). For fear of being hurt if you are honest about your mental problems. But that is precisely what makes it worse. If you too are struggling with mental problems, stress or anxiety, I want to encourage you to do something about it. Know that you are not alone. It’s not weird talking about it with a friend you trust. Or to seek professional help. I believe that everyone is made to shine in life, from within.

Are you brave enough to take off your mask?

Self-Confidence

Always tired and frustrated

Do you recognize the feeling that whatever you do is never enough? Working hard at home, at school or at work? Do you regularly get exhausted from what you do, and do you never seem to find real satisfaction in achieving goals? Then read on. Because it may be your self-image.

Stress. Tijdsdruk. Alles moet nu. Geen tijd.
Peace of Mind

If everything has to be done NOW

Feeling stressed out? In this blog more about the origin of my stress and how I manage this stress. This relaxation/make-room-in-your-head-step-by-step plan works for me. It could work for you too!

Dankbaarheid. Blijdschap. Rust. Ruimte.

Being grateful makes you happy

I believe in the power of gratitude, do you? Or do you find it mainly a lot of “hassle”? Just then I invite you to read on. Gratitude makes you happier. And the happier you are, the more your environment will enjoy it. But being grateful does not work when you are tired, at least, I cannot (and I am quite tired). How do I manage to be grateful and make me happy?

She is doing so well

Gosh, she’s done well! Do you hear yourself thinking? Sometimes, very occasionally, it seems like someone else is doing it better than you are. But is that true? Because appearances are often deceiving.

You’re not a good mother

“I’m a bad mother” was my thought this morning. It was getting dark again in my head and I didn’t feel happy. But luckily not for long, because I recognized the lie of this negative thought and got rid of it.
